FITCHBURG - Meghan and
Sarah were in big trouble, so much so that both teens found themselves in
family court. The judge told them they had one chance left, and that was to
attend the Salvation Army's Bridging the Gap program.
At first the teens felt the same way sitting in the mandatory group meetings
- brooding, silent, wanting to be anywhere but where the judge ordered them to
be.
"But instead of bossing us around like the courts do, treating you like a
terrible person and bullying us, well, kids that come here with bad attitudes,
I've seen them turn around, make new friendships. It turned my life around,"
said Meghan.
