Each person is given individual attention during the process, evaluation and case management. After an assessment of need, family qualifications and program requirements, assistance may be given in areas such as: - Utility assistance through the Good Neighbor Energy Fund or FEMA
- Food packages including meat and cheese
- Rental/mortgage assistance
- Referrals and case management
- Counseling
- Budgeting
- Help with assistance forms
- Family Development Plan

Special efforts are made to assist individuals and families during the Thanksgiving and Christmas season with food packages, toys and winter clothing. Applications for assistance begin October 1 for both holidays. Summer Camp at Camp Wonderland - Senior Vacations
- Senior citizens can enjoy the benefits of attending The Salvation Army's Camp Wonderland and Conference Center in Sharon, MA. One week vacations are offered to seniors to enjoy the camaraderie with their peers, play shuffleboard, tennis, a pontoon boat ride or short day trip sightseeing. Every effort is made to keep costs extremely affordable for those on a fixed income.
- Youth Camp
- Each summer 20 children from the Newburyport area are given the opportunity to experience a week of overnight camp at Camp Wonderland. The camp is a fully-licensed and accredited camp that offers affordable vacations to children whose families may otherwise not be able to send their kids to camp. They enjoy nature, learn new talents, make new friends and enjoy boat rides, swimming, crafts, sporting activities, games and Bible Study.
- Price is based on the size of the child's family and family income. In some hardship cases, the cost may be subsidized.
Gym Rental The gym is available for birthday parties, receptions or other celebrations on a donation basis. Included also is use of a dining room and kitchen. Call Capt. Purvis to schedule your next event. Volunteer and Service Opportunities There are many avenues of service through volunteering. Listed below are some that you may want to get involved with: Christmas - Bell ringing

- Distribution of Christmas packages to families
