Albany, New York’s South End is one of the City’s neediest neighborhoods with high concentrations of endemic poverty and an aging infrastructure.
A “Learning Zone” was declared by the Salvation Army to help ameliorate the devastating socio-economic conditions facing the estimated 7,840 people that live in the South End.
The Learning zone serves transforms the lives individuals through life-long learning, by teaching them employment and personal skills that make a real difference in their lives.
To further support these individuals, our fully equipped computer lab is available five days a week. Children and youth are given instruction and mentoring to help them grow and become stronger students and better people
