Calling All Volunteers!!! 05/05/2014
Calling all Volunteers!
Thank you so much for being a Salvation Army volunteer. Your partnership and dedication is appreciated. We could not serve the community and those less fortunate without your help.
The Salvation Army has quite a few opportunities coming up:
Outside Spring Clean Up - Now that the snow has finally melted, we can use some help planting flowers, cleaning up flower beds, sweeping, raking, picking up garbage, etc. We need help before Wednesday, May 14th to get ready for our open house.
130th Anniversary Open House - Thursday, May 15th from 8am-Noon at 960 Main Street. We need help to guide guests into the building from the parking lots. Volunteers will also make sure only those coming to the open house are parking in the lots. We also need volunteers to be greeters in our lobby. Working in pairs is a lot more fun! Let me know if you would like to bring a friend with you.
Hands Across Buffalo - Saturday, May 17th from 9:30am-11:30am at 960 Main Street. We need volunteers to represent The Salvation Army as we support Hands Across Buffalo. Coffee and donuts will be served in the Golden Age Center at 9:30am. Then we will be shuttled to West Ferry Street between Linwood Avenue and Main Street. At 11am we will be led in an oath to take a stand against poverty in Buffalo. Then we will hold hands for 15 minutes. We will then be shuttled back to our Main Street location.
Celebrity Ice Cream Scoop Off - Saturday, May 17th from 9:30am-1:30pm at Sweet Jenny's, 56 Spring Street in Williamsville. Help us with bell ringing, coordinating mascots and greeting customers.
Memorial Day Parade - Monday, May 26th from 12:45pm-4pm at Williamsville East High School, 5950 Main Street in Williamsville. Represent The Salvation Army by marching in the parade!
Red Kettle Open Golf Tournament - Monday, June 2nd from 9:30am-7pm at Fox Valley Golf Course, 6161 Genesee Street in Lancaster. Help us for two hours with auctions, set-up/clean-up and golf contests.
Donut Day - Friday, June 6th from 7:30am-9am at the Larken Building, 745 Seneca Street in Buffalo. Help us hand out donuts as we celebrate The Salvation Army's history of providing donuts to soldiers during the World Wars.
The Salvation Army has worked hard to serve the population of Buffalo for the last 130 years, serving 30,000 individuals last year alone. This is possible because the generosity of volunteers like you. Please email or call me with the task you are interested in. Spaces are limited!
Thanks so much!
