Kansas City, MO - The Salvation
Army is providing support to the town of Harveyville, Kansas after a tornado
damaged much of the community late last night.
A team of Salvation Army emergency disaster service (EDS) volunteers based
out of Topeka has arrived in town with a mobile feeding kitchen to provide
meals, snacks and drinks to first responders, survivors and clean-up crews. The
Salvation Army is also offering emotional and spiritual support and will remain
on the scene to identify on-going needs in the community.
“We are here to serve in whatever way we can,” said Dee Smith,
director of emergency disaster services for The Salvation Army. “And we
will not leave until all the needs in Harveyville are met.”
Individuals interested in providing aid are encouraged to make monetary
donations via our secure, on-line donations page, or text STORM to 80888 to

so at this time, The Salvation Army is not accepting clothing, food, or
commodity donations for disaster victims (these items are still needed at
Satlvation Army family thrift stores and will continue to be accepted there).

Pennsylvania and Delaware Divisional Headquarters at 701 N. Broad Street,
