Major disasters affect thousands of people as they occur each year throughout the country. Local disasters may not affect as many people, but are equally devastating for those involved. The Salvation Army is always on the scene because of its every-day presence in communities across the country. Because of the Army’s proximity to the community and a constant awareness of the needs of people who live there, The Salvation Army is among those first on scene when the disaster strikes.
The Salvation Army in the PENDEL Division works closely with local emergency management officials, fire departments and police departments to respond to incidents within the community.

Community Collaboration
We also partner with other community agencies such as the American Red Cross, Catholic Charities, Southern Baptist, Lutheran Disaster Response and many others to provide coordinated assistance to victims.
