Every day, The Salvation Army in greater new york reaches out to the homeless, the displaced, children and youth at risk, lonely seniors, the jobless, and the addicted. The only qualification is need and the needs are endless. In Greater New York, the Army serves the neediest communities in 14 counties – including all the boroughs of New York City, Long Island, and the Lower Hudson Valley. And importantly, Salvation Army programs are tailored to the communities they serve. Salvation Army Officers, employees, and volunteers interact with New Yorkers from all walks of live who are living in struggling neighborhoods or dealing with difficult situations. They learn about the obstacles they face, their hopes, dreams, and aspirations. This local knowledge is a great aid to the Army in its mission to Do the Most Good. |
