The Salvation Army food pantry of Allen County serves all those in need of assistance with food in accordance with the nutrition guidelines. We have upgraded to the Choice Pantry model, where the people we help can shop and choose their own items, receiving food based on the number of people in their families, and the recommended servings from each food group. People who shop at the Choice Food Pantry are given a three-day supply of food for the entire household every 30 days if needed.
Through a collarborative effort between The Salvation Army and Dominion East Ohio, the Energy Share program is able to assist thousands of individuals with payment of their Dominion bill. The program began in winter 1982-1983 and provides assistance to avoid shut-off or restore heating service. The heating program runs from January 1 - May 31 (or until funding runs out). This year the guidelines have become tighter in which we are only able to help individuals/families with Dominion bills only and you must have tried everyother option available first before we are able to help.
Contact our office in January to see if you qualify and if so to set up an appointment at 419-224-9055.
Please be advised that we recieve a high number of calls for assistance for this program. When calling the case worker, please leave one voice mail message and someone will return your call as soon as possible.
