The Salvation Army’s New London Corps provides food to those in need from New London and surrounding communities throughout the year, along with food and toys during the holiday season.

Food Pantry – Available by appointment on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, from 9:00AM to 3:00PM.

Rental, Utility, and Clothing Assistance – Provided as funds are available on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Holiday Assistance – Food for Thanksgiving dinner and food/toys for Christmas provided for those in need.

Camp CONNRI – Children attend The Salvation Army’s overnight camp in Ashford. Enrollment is based on space availability.

NEW LONDON - Bessie Childs, Office Manager for New London Salvation Army, finished her last day on June 27, as her military family now prepares to move to the West Coast in July. Everyone who knows her is forever grateful for the mark that she has left on The New London Corps. Her entire family will also be missed, including her husband Nathaniel, a U.S. Navy Sailor and cousin of Captain David Childs, and two sons, Nathan and Andrew. MONTVILLE - The Salvation Army's New London Emergency Disaster Services Canteen 1 served yet again, this time at a large brush fire off Kittemaug Road in Montville on the afternoon of Monday, April 7. Crews from Montville; CT DEEP; surrounding towns; and CL&P all assisted in fighting the fire, which was located on top of a hill overlooking the Thames River. New London Acknowledges Area Generosity

Paints the City Green!

NEW LONDON - The Salvation Army relies on the help of others to help those in need. On March 26, Captains Jose and Melissa Borrero acknowledged such support by holding The Salvation Army of New London's First Annual Appreciation Dinner and Awards Ceremony! In keeping with the Spirit of "the holidays," the Corps served a traditional Thanksgiving Turkey Dinner, along with all of the trimmings. This included a special dessert of strawberry shortcake with whipped cream!

After dinner was served, Captain Jose gave an eloquent speech about how everyone came together to help give Christmas to so many people who would have otherwise had a much more difficult time getting through the holidays. Who was recognized and a holiday thank you...

Sound Community Services, Inc. Delivers!

Over 200 Toys Collected and Donated

NEW LONDON – This holiday season, The Salvation Army continues to benefit by way of great help from terrific places, run by very generous people! Such is the case for Sound Community Services, Inc. (SCSI)! SCSI is a private, not-for-profit organization dedicated to educating and assisting individuals with behavioral health needs to achieve independence and integrate into the larger community. Their recent Toy Drive for The Salvation Army was very successful. In the end, over 200 toys were collected and donated to help ensure many children have happy holidays this year, for which we could not be more thankful!

Seasonal Outfitters Touches Many Lives

NEW LONDON - Recently, Seasonal Outfitters made a very generous donation to The Salvation Army in New London of over $6,000 worth of Alpine Jackets, Rainwear, Fleece Jackets, and more for children and adults. Seasonal Outfitters is considered a one stop shop for all seasons in Mystic, Connecticut. Whether it be through volunteering, putting some change into our kettles for Giving Tuesday, or making an incredible clothing donation such as this, it all goes a long way in helping The Salvation Army to meet the needs of the many communities that we serve.
