Summer Ministry - Via Camp CONNRI, children attend The Salvation Army's week-long residential Christian Summer Camp in Ashford, CT.

Holiday Assistance - Thanksgiving Day: A traditional Thanksgiving meal is prepared and served by GE volunteers, 11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Christmas: Family food baskets and toys for children 12 years and under are distributed. Registration required in advance.

BRISTOL - Board members were gathered around the room, discussing who was in charge of the weather and then decided to blame it on the local weatherman... they just couldn’t decide which TV station. BRISTOL - People in need were the real winners in the 1st Annual Food Drive Challenge with the ShopRite of Bristol. Members of the Police, Fire, and the Armed Services gathered for a "food drive challenge" with ShopRite on May 23. Together, the groups collected over 700 lbs. of nonperishable food items for local food pantries. How The Salvation Army and other groups benefited...

National Salvation Army Week is Here!

Bristol helps our division kickoff this 61st annual event.

Typically observed during the second week of May, National Salvation Army Week was first declared by President Dwight D. Eisenhower in 1954 – 74 years after The Salvation Army arrived in the U.S. In his proclamation, he noted:

BRISTOL – Corps Officer Captain Charles Adams prayed for sun and got it. The weather was incredibly cooperative and it turned out to be a wonderful day for a picnic. This year’s annual advisory board picnic was held on June 27 at the Federal Hill Green, under the gazebo, with many faithful members in attendance. The cooking was handled by guest/master chef Cadet Steven Thomas, who delivered the food with perfect timing to a hungry group of guests. A fun, food-filled event...
