Western Pennsylvania Salvation Army Emergency Disaster Services Team Was On Scene at Franklin Regional School District Stabbing Incident

Western Pennsylvania Salvation Army Emergency Disaster Services team was on scene at the Franklin Regional School District in Westmoreland County, Western Pennsylvania, early this morning. This was the scene of a mass stabbing incident in which 19 students and a security gurad were injured in this incident.

EDS personnel provided immediate assistance to the first responders. They had two teams of emotional and spiritual care providers standing by for assistance. Fortunately, no fatalities have been reported and all victims are expected to recover.  Teams are now on standby, pending any further requests for assistance; and will be available for emotional and spiritual care now and in the days following the incident.
