Enjoy an Elegant "Warm a Heart Celebration" with a Free Dinner at the LeMont and Make a Difference for Needy Kids and Seniors

Released 22 January 2014

Join us for a “Warm A Heart Celebration” and enjoy elegant sit-down dining with unparalleled views at Pittsburgh‘s renowned LeMont. Thanks to the generosity of local restaurateurs, Ed and Anna Dunlap, you can make a difference in the lives of needy seniors and children.  On Thursday, February 20th,  at 6:30pm, The Salvation Army and WTAE TV Channel 4’s Project Bundle-Up is holding its fifth annual “Auction Kickoff Dinner,” to be hosted by Mike Harvey, WTAE chief meteorologist and chairman of WTAE Project Bundle-Up and WTAE Chronicle Anchor Sally Wiggin. The evening’s festivities include: special guest, “Pittsburgh Dad”; live musical entertainment by “EvenBetter”; candy bar buffet; a live basket auction with themed baskets of $250 plus value; a gift card auction extravaganza; and appearances by local celebrities.

The annual Project Bundle-Up Auction is a key fundraiser that supports the purchase of new winter outerwear.  In conjunction with WTAE TV Channel 4, the annual online auction generates more than $100,000 annually. Since its inception twenty-eight years ago, Project Bundle-Up has raised more than 12.3 million dollars and has provided more than 242,000 disadvantaged Western Pennsylvanian children and senior citizens with new winter coats, hats, scarves, gloves and boots.

Your donation of a new item(s) in its original packaging or a gift card with a minimum retail value of $100 per person is your admission into the event.  Monetary donations are also gladly accepted. The gifts collected at the door will be auctioned at The Salvation Army and WTAE TV’s Annual Project Bundle-Up Online Auction in August and September 2014. For gift suggestions and reservations, visit WTAE TV and The Salvation Army’s Project Bundle-Up website at www.projectbundleup.com.  RSVPs must be received by February 17, 2014 to Project Bundle-Up Director, Melissa Fereday at 412-446-1639.  Space is limited to the first 200 guests.  Donations of gift items are tax deductible.

This event is chaired by Greater Pittsburgh Salvation Army Advisory Board member and Walmart executive Marcy Park and is graciously underwritten by Mr. and Mrs. Ed Dunlap, owners of LeMont. Dinner invitations were generously underwritten by Professional Graphic Communications, Inc. and delicious desserts will be donated by Jason’s Cheesecake Factory.
