On-Line Marketing Specialist and Graphic Designer

Job Summary: This position will play a key role in contributing creative design, direction and online marketing strategy for our online and print communications initiatives. Also, for creating a comprehensive social media strategy to increase visibility, membership and traffic across all Salvation Army channels by using Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest, etc. The main goal is to advance The Salvation Army’s mission by increasing online awareness and fundraising and by providing design support to the development department.

This position is responsible for the development and maintenance of the Western Pennsylvania Salvation Army website (www.salvationarmy-wpa.org) as well as multiple related sites. Responsible for maintaining the BBIS online database, including donation and constituent data, and training other users on the platform. Provide technical assistance/support to non-technical personnel in the integration and creation of content and usage of a content management system. Provide the necessary leadership and guidance for social media activities.

Day Camp Assistant - Pittsburgh North Side Corps

Job Summary: The Day Camp Assistant will work with the Program Assistant to develop and lead activities, monitor playtime and enforce the rules.

Our exclusive Camp Discovery program offers full day, fun-based, educational programs all summer long.  We engage children with six unique curriculum themes within our summer camp program:  Culture, diversity and geography; Theater, dance and music; Health fitness and sports; Art, architecture and sculptures; Science, technology and environmental education; Animals, garden and nature.

Camp Discovery also includes theme-based field trips to local areas of interest including museums and cultural venues, farms and more. 

Education Requirements:

Child Development Associate (CDA) OR attending school to attain Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or related field (Child Development, Special Education, Elementary Education or Human Service).

Help Desk/Network Technician - Information Technology

Job Summary: Provides support to Divisional end users on a variety of IT related issues.  Identifies researches and resolves problems using remote services when necessary.  Responds to telephone calls, e-mails, and personnel requests for support.  Documents, tracks, and monitors the problems to ensure timely resolution.  Assist IT manager with maintenance with both hardware and software systems.

Family Learning Center Coordinator - Family Caring Center

Job Summary: Develop and implement lesson plans for adults and children. Teach Life skills, and  job preparedness classes, and implement changes as program develops. Co-ordinate all home work activities, summer and reading programs. Attend community an in house meetings and maintain an active schedule year long. Prepare and submit  monthly statistics related to all programs and activities.

Bookkeeper (29 hours) - Finance Department

Job Summary: Completes all bookkeeping functions for multiple Western PA Corps.   Maintains and records all Corps business transactions. Inputs income and expense, reconciles multiple accounts and prepares reports.  Follows bookkeeping procedures established by The Salvation Army, relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Coordinator of Disaster Agency Volunteer Response - Emergency Disaster Services


Job Summary: Responsible for all activities related to the overall recruitment, management, and retention of the Western PA Division volunteers. One third of the Director’s time should be spent recruiting for the Emergency Disaster Program. The position requires the coordination of all activities related to the recruitment, orientation, development, and management of volunteers. The position requires a person with the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, including the ability to make effective, informational presentations to a wide variety of groups. Strong organizational skills include setting priorities, planning, and setting and achieving short and long-term goals. Position requires creativity, flexibility, and accuracy.
The Coordinator of Volunteer Response will initiate and execute all aspects of volunteer recruitment and management. The position will facilitate referral and placement of volunteers within The Salvation Army EDS programs, enhancing the overall use of volunteers.

Dentist - Johnstown Denter Center


Position Summary: This professional level position serves as the clinical director for the Johnstown  Dental Center.   Educational requirements include graduation from an accredited school of dental medicine and successful completion of all board examinations, a current license to practice dentistry in Pennsylvania, and DEA certificate for prescribing or dispensing all levels of medication including schedule 2, 2N, 3, 3N, 4 and 5 level narcotics. The Clinical Director must supply evidence of malpractice insurance with liability limits of $1,000,000 per occurrence and $3,000,000 in aggregate.  The General Dentist is responsible for diagnosing and treating diseases, injuries and malformations of teeth and gums and related oral structures. The general dentist may also treat diseases of the nerve, pulp, or other dental tissues affecting vitality of teeth.
