Summer sessions and enrollment
A Camp Allegheny experience is one your child won’t soon forget. Each day is carefully planned to provide your child a variety of fun and educational hands-on activities in a safe, loving environment.
THINGS TO DO
Our facilities enable us to offer a wide variety of activities. These are our primary activity centers:
Nature & Science Center: Interactive facility where children might learn about anything from reptiles to weather forecasting.
Recreational Sites and Equipment: Using our outdoor courts and fields, gymnasium, and wide variety of equipment, children might improve on skills in their favorite sport or learn how to play exciting new games from other countries.
Craft Lodge: Children can release their creative potential through craft projects they can take home and enjoy such as bead jewelry, ceramics, and leather.
Aquatics Sites: Either paddling a canoe or float along in an inner tube on the Slippery Rock Creek, children will enjoy a break from the summer heat, and each day spend time at the pool splashing around or relaxing in the sun.
Trails: Short hikes into the woods that are part of Camp Allegheny lands offer children opportunities to experience nature “up-close.” They’ll want to make sure to keep their eyes open for fossil remains and evidence of beavers that live in the area!
That’s not all! Each day counselors plan special activities just for their kids. These activities are only limited by the imagination of the counselor. A camper favorite, however, is the homemade “waterslide” at the ball field. Each evening campers come together for the “Big Event”, a special program that might involve costumes, adventure, music, prizes, mystery, and/or friendly competition.
ACCOMODATIONS AND MEALS
Children stay in modern cabins with indoor bathrooms and electricity. Camp provides sheets and blankets, while children must bring their own towels and pillows.
We make sure children are well-fed at Allegheny. Your child will receive three meals a day served in the air-conditioned dining hall, visit the canteen for an afternoon snack, and receive
