The Ashland, OH Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center

Position: Recreation Associate - Part time
Availability: 1 Position Nights & Weekends
Responsible to: 
Recreation Coordinator - Todd Schoch
Function: The Recreation Associate is responsible to provide program supervision in the assigned area of the Recreation Department.
Qualifications:     
High School diploma or equivalent is required. Must have the ability to work and relate well with people. Must be able to lift and carry 40 lbs. Must meet all health and safety regulations as defined by the Health Department as well as The Salvation Army. Must have a philosophy of education and child development consistent with that of the RJKCCC and The Salvation Army. Must have the ability to work with children, parents, and staff including but not limited to the ability to relate joyfully and sensitively to children of all ages, sensitivity to children’s individual needs, ability to use appropriate positive discipline consistently, dependability, ability to handle security and crisis situations, calmly, & the ability to seek supervision and use it consistently. Must maintain a professional attitude and approach to problem solving. Must be at least 16 years old.

Position: Class Instructor - Arts and Enrichment
Availability: On-going
Responsible to: 
Art, Music, or Education Coordinator
Function: Class instructors will teach a subject in which they have expertise. Classes will be held weekly for an eight week period, or can be scheduled as a limited-time workshop. The instructor will design the class with the assistance of Salvation Army staff, and will be responsible to the art, music or education coordinator. Classes can be geared towards children, adults, or families, and can be offered during the day, evenings, or weekends.
Requirements:     
Must have a level of expertise in the subject to be presented, and must pass a Salvation Army background check. Position can be volunteer, part-time employee, or on a contract basis.
