There are many opportunities to volunteer and help out to give to those in need.

Christmas volunteering opportunities include...

Bell Ringing at a Christmas Kettle

The Salvation Army's red kettle is one of the primary ways we raise funds to support our year-round work in the community.  As a group, you can have the opportunity to ring the bell at a kettle for a day.  Different members can be at the kettle throughout the day; working in one- or two-hour shifts, or organize themselves however works best. It is a fun way to help out, and a very visible way to show that you are supporting the community.  Individuals are also encouraged to volunteer.

For more information on how you or your group can join, contact Kettle Coordinator Dan Larcombe at 941-2990.

Angel Tree

AngelTreeLogo

The Angel Tree program is a way that new toys and clothing are collected for children whose families have signed up for Christmas help.  The Angel Tree tags contain the child's name, age, toy wish list, and clothing sizes.  These tags are given out to those who want to help and are then able to shop for that child.  After shopping, the gifts are returned to the table to be delivered to the child for Christmas.

Volunteers are needed at our location at the Bangor Mall to help sign out the Angel Tree tags and receive gifts.

For more information on how you can help a child's wish come true this Christmas, contact Mary MacKay at 941-2990.

Adopt-A-Family

There are many local families in need this Christmas season.  By choosing to Adopt-A-Family, you can provide children with clothing and toys, needed items for mom and dad, as well as providing items for their Christmas family dinner.  This is a wonderful opportunity to make a one-on-one impact in the lives of a local family in need.

Download an Adopt-A-Family form, located at the bottom of this page, and begin helping a family today!

For more information on how you or your organization can Adopt-A-Family, contact Captain Evelyn Clark at 941-2990 or email evelyn.clark@use.salvationarmy.org
