 The Salvation Army in Cincinnati Welcomes the Internationally-Renowned New York Staff Band for a Local Concert in Conjunction with the Cincinnati Brass Band

Concert May 17th Will Highlight "Songs of Faith and Patriotism"

Cincinnati, OH (February 28, 2014) - The Salvation Army today announced that the internationally-renowned New York Staff Band will join the Cincinnati Brass Band for a local concert on May 17th, 2014. The concert, "Songs of Faith and Patriotism," will feature songs performed by each band, as well as a finale series of songs by performed by the full ensemble of both bands.NYSB

"We're delighted to welcome the New York Staff Band to perform in Cincinnati," stated Major Janet Ashcraft, Divisional Director of Women's Ministries at The Salvation Army.  "The New York Staff Band has been acclaimed around the world as they have shared their musical ministry through fine brass band performances with a distinct Christian message.  It will be wonderful to experience both of these fine brass bands in concert together for the first time." 

The New York Staff Band, a ministry of The Salvation Army, was formed in 1887, and has provided leadership at Salvation Army worship centers around the world.  Members of the New York Staff Band are volunteers, and are either officers or employees of The Salvation Army, under the leadership of bandmaster Ron Waiksnoris.

CBBThe Cincinnati Brass Band was formed in 1993 to provide an opportunity for qualified adult musicians the experience of playing traditional British brass band music.  Members of the Cincinnati Brass Band, along with conductor Anita Cocker Hunt, volunteer their time and efforts to spread the sound of a brass band to the general public.

The "Songs of Faith and Patriotism" concert will be held on Saturday, May 17th, 2014 at Crestview Presbyterian Church, 9463 Cincinnati-Columbus Rd. (SR 42) in West Chester.  The concert starts at 7:00 pm.  Tickets are only $10 each, and can be purchased at any area Buddy Rogers Music stores, or by calling The Salvation Army at 513-762-5612. CDs of each band will be available for purchase at the venue.
