The Salvation Army in Cincinnati Seeks Additional Campers; Announces Second Round of Supplemental Registration Dates
Approximately 100 Openings Still Available - Scholarships Available to Qualifying Participants
Cincinnati, OH (May 30, 2012) -The Salvation Army in Cincinnati announced today that it still has approximately 100 openings remaining for its City Camp and Single-Parent Camp programs this Summer, which it is very eager to fill.
City Camp is a five-day residential camp offered to children ages 6 to 12 who live in Hamilton County. Single-Parent Camp is a three-day residential camp offered to single-adult households in Hamilton County with children ages 5 to 15. Each camp is very affordable for participants, as part of the ministry of The Salvation Army: City Camp is only $20 per child; Single Parent camp is only $30 per family, regardless of the number of age-appropriate children that attend. The camp is a great value and a wonderful opportunity for low-income families in Hamilton County to enjoy a great camping experience together. Scholarships are available for children who qualify. Please inquire at registration.
City Camp will be held June 15th thru 20th. Single Parent camp will be held August 3rd thru 5th; each will be held at The Salvation Army's Camp SWONEKY. Camp SWONEKY is a 250+ acre campgrounds operated by The Salvation Army in Oregonia, OH, about 10 miles north of Kings Island. The facility offers games, horseback riding, hiking and climbing, swimming, farm animals, arts and crafts, and much more, all in a beautiful forested setting.
"We're eager to ensure that local children and families have the opportunity to participate in camp," stated Major Faith Miller, Divisional Program Secretary at The Salvation Army. "We put the word out last week that we needed more campers, and we had a good response, but we still have about 100 more spaces to fill." The Salvation Army has a long heritage of providing wonderful camp experiences to those from underprivileged neighborhoods, and seeks those in Hamilton County that could benefit from these great offerings.
Supplemental registration dates have been added for those interested in either camp:
