The Salvation Army Seeks Additional Supporters for LemonAiD Campaign
CINCINNATI, OH (June 20, 2012) - The Salvation Army announced today that it seeks additional supporters for its LemonAiD fundraiser for 2012. The campaign is a ‘kids helping kids' initiative in which children and families host lemonade stands and donate the proceeds to The Salvation Army. Proceeds from the LemonAiD campaign will be used locally to support the various Youth Development programs offered at The Salvation Army, which serves hundreds of children each year in our local communities.
To ensure the success of the campaign, additional children and families are needed to host lemonade stands. LemonAiD is currently registering participants, and will continue to do so through June. Those interested should visit www.salvationarmycincinnati.org to register, and a support kit will be mailed to them. The kit includes a LemonAiD sign, instructions, and stickers. The rest is left to the imagination of the children hosting the stands, and they are encouraged to get creative and make it fun!
The LemonAiD campaign runs from Memorial Day through the 4th of July, with a Finale Event scheduled Saturday, July 7th on the plaza level at Paul Brown Stadium. At the finale, children who have raised funds through their lemonade stands will dump the proceeds into the super-size Salvation Army kettle. Finale attendees can enter to win a Chilimobile Block Party from Gold Star Chili, which will be awarded to one LemonAiD Finale participant.
"We're excited about the launch of the LemonAiD Campaign for 2012," stated Lt. Dennis Knight, a Salvation Army officer in charge of the Newport, KY Community Center. "LemonAiD is a great way for kids and families to get involved helping those in their own communities. It's easy, it's fun, and it provides important funding that helps us make a positive impact in the local community."
