The Salvation Army Welcomes New Leadership to Greater Cincinnati Headquarters
Majors Larry & Janet Ashcraft Start New Appointment as Local Divisional Leaders
Cincinnati, OH (January 21, 2014) - The Salvation Army announced today that Majors Larry and Janet Ashcraft have been appointed as the new Divisional Leaders for the Southwest Ohio and Northeast Kentucky (SWONEKY) division, with headquarters in downtown Cincinnati. Majors Larry and Janet Ashcraft have served for more than 30 years in The Salvation Army, and come to Cincinnati from their most-recent appointment as Corps Commanders at The Salvation Army's Community Center in Montclair, NJ.
"We're delighted to take on this new responsibility in The Salvation Army's SWONEKY Division," stated Major Larry Ashcraft, Divisional Commander. "My wife and I have hearts for the mission of The Salvation Army, and welcome the opportunity to serve with our fellow officers and staff based in Cincinnati."
Major Larry Ashcraft has been appointed to the role of Divisional Commander for The Salvation Army's SWONEKY Division, covering southwest Ohio and northeast Kentucky. Major Janet Ashcraft has been appointed to the role of Director of Women's Ministries for the division. The Ashcrafts are both graduates of Nyack College in New York. Major Janet Ashcraft holds a Master's Degree in Counseling from the Alliance Graduate School of Counseling, also in New York. The couple has two sons, one of whom is also a Salvation Army officer, and two grandchildren.
