Want to Help?  Sponsors are needed each year for the Adopt-a-Family program. Please follow this link for more information.

Among the many and varied services and programs provided by The Salvation Army throughout Greater Cincinnati, those that particularly bring joy at Christmastime are the Adopt-a-Family/Senior, Toy Shop and Holiday Gift Baskets programs.  Together, these programs help to ensure that hundreds of lower-income families in our community have an opportunity to receive gifts, have gifts for their children and funds to purchase food for a Christmas dinner celebration.

Adopt-a-Family/Senior

Each year, hundreds of families are helped through the Adopt-a-Family program.  Last year, almost 500 famlies were sponsored through the program. Local Salvation Army facilities, as well as dozens of local agencies and schools, refer families and seniors for consideration to receive the benefits of Adopt-a-Family.

Families and seniors that participate in the program are paired with kind-hearted sponsors who purchase and wrap gifts and drop them off at our distribution facility.

Annual Toy Shop

Each year, thousands of toys and books (as well as hundreds of dolls) are distributed via the annual Salvation Army Toy Shop. Toys for the program are made available through the hard work of the U.S. Marines Reserve, through the generosity of all those contributing to the Marines' annual Toys for Tots program, as well as financial contributions to The Salvation Army that allows us to purchase toys for the program.

Dolls and books are provided through the generosity of The Salvation Army's Toy Shop Auxiliary, through their annual Charity Doll Auction and the support of countless volunteer hours.  Through these efforts, and the generosity of many donors, toys, dolls and books are made available to low-income children up to age 13.

Participation in Toy Shop is completed via an on-site registration process, generally held in mid-November each year. Parents or guardians wishing to register an age-appropriate child (or children) for Toy Shop will need to register at one of the area Salvation Army facilities.  Once registration details are finalized for any given year, they will appear at the top of this page.

Holiday Gift Baskets

Each year, hundreds of gift baskets are distributed to families that might not otherwise have a great meal for Christmas.  The Salvation Army relies upon the generosity of local donors to supply the contents for these bountiful gift baskets, as well as financial contributions that provide the means to purchase items for the baskets.

If you'd like to help out, please contact your local Salvation Army Community Center.  You can locate your nearest center at this link.

Thanks to all those who help us in the process of implementing these programs.  We couldn't do it without you!
