The Salvation Army in Dayton has offered a variety of educational programs over the years, especially focused on serving urban youth over the last four years. We're excited to use the new facilities at the Kroc Center to provide even more opportunities for kids and adults to develop their learning and technology skills!

Hours: Mondays: 11 am to 8 pm Tuesdays: 10 am to 3 pm & 6 pm to 8 pm Wednesdays: 11 am to 3 pm & 6 pm to 8 pm
Thursdays: 11 am to 3 pm & 6 pm to 8 pm Fridays: 11:00 am to 7:00 pm Saturdays: 11:00 am to 5:00 pm
Spring 2013
All Classes run March 1 through May 31
After School Grades 1-8 (Session 4 & 5) Tuesdays through Thursdays. Homework help will start the session for all participants in the Education Building. Students will have choices of classes within their grade groupings in the Education, Recreation, and Worship and Arts buildings afterwards. Homework help is available at 2:30 pm; electives begin at 4:15 pm. (MUST be enrolled member with $5 nonrefundable processing fee) Session 4: February 26 through April 4. Session 5: April 16 through May 16. After School Programming will not run March 26 through 28 due to Spring Break and April 9 through 11 due to Between Session Break.

Every School Year: Group & Individual Homework Help and Tutoring
We offer some opportunities for children in first through eighth grades to
participate in either homework help or intentional tutoring. Please contact
Mallory Bullen at 528-5245 for information about these programs. We are
also always seeking volunteers to help with this program - please let
Mallory Bullen know if you are interested in these volunteer
opportunities.
The Facilities
Technology Café & Technology Studio
The Education Center at the Dayton Kroc Center is home to a
state-of-the-art technology equipment including laptops, touch screen
computers, Wii Nintendo systems, and a variety of other technology
equipment. The Tech Café has 60 laptops that can be checked out and used in
the Center using our wireless. Users can also bring in their own computers
and access our free Wireless network.
Technology recreation opportunities exist with the Wii equipment and
through our 8 flat panel monitors that can be used for presentations,
television, or gaming systems. Computer programs that are educational as
well as programs focused on fun are available to be used on the laptops and
classes are offered to improve understanding and skills in the Microsoft
Office Suite.
RJ's Drop-in Center
RJ's Drop-In Center is a great place for 2.5 – 6 year olds to have a high quality, hands-on learning environment. Children can visit the drop in center for up to 3 hours while a parent or guardian is accessing other resources and remains on the Kroc Center property. Available through the Miami Valley Child Development Center, RJ's Drop-In Center helps prepare children for school readiness using resources that are developmentally appropriate including Access to Science kits developed by the University of Dayton.
Study Rooms
The study rooms provide access to our Math & Science programs as well as
our Literacy Clinic. These resources are available in partnership with the
University of Dayton and offer learning supports and some tutoring
