The Dance Studio at the Dayton Kroc Center

Our 5,000 square foot Fitness Center with Aerobic/Dance Studio offers endless opportunities for fitness. Enjoy a challenging workout on our cardio machines or weight training equipment, or make new friends in a fitness class! Click the links below to find out more about what we offer.

Fees

The cost per class per quarter is $15 for members and $25 for non-members. Participants will be able to engage in one class per week for the entire Spring Quarter. The drop-in class fee is $2 for members and $3 for non-members per class. For each class there will be a minimum requirement for 5 members in each class for the class to run.

Cancellations

Classes are subject to cancellation if they do not fill. Refunds will be issued if the class is cancelled.

 

Spring 2014

Spring Aerobic classes will run March 1through May 31.

Members must be 16 years or older in order to work out in the Fitness Center or the Dance Studio, unless you complete the Kroc Teen Programs.

There will be a punch card available for purchase, $15. for members and $25 for non-members, that will be good for 12 fitness classes of your choosing. You must have the punch card present. The punch cards are only available to use during specific quarters, so if you purchase a punch card for the Spring Quarter, it must be used by May 31.

TRX Training With suspension training and gravity your body will become the machine, building strength, flexibility, and core all at the same time. With the dozens of TRX exercises you can experience a total body work out with one simple piece of equipment. Maximum number of clients is 9 so please sign up early if interested. This class will fill quickly. Members $20, Non-Members $40.
Drop-In Rates: $3 for members per class, $5 for non members per class.

TRX Punch Cards will available for purchase at the Fitness Desk, $20 for members, and $40 for non members. They will be good for admission to 12 TRX classes. There is a max of 9 students per class, first to come will get a spot. *March is

This class is for anyone ages 16 & Up. Want to get a quick total body workout? Come join this class where you will be using all kinds of different equipment and exercises! 9:15 to 10:05 AM

Zumba

This class is for anyone ages 16 & Up. A fun class filled with easy dance steps that correspond with Latin and International music. Aerobic interval training is combined with fast and slow rhythms. Zumba utilizes the principles of fitness interval training and resistance training to maximize caloric output, fat burning, and total body toning. 12:00 to 12:50 PM

Boot Camp (Gym)

This class is for anyone ages 16 & Up. This challenging strength & conditioning class will get you into peak physical condition by integrating functional strength training, cardio, intervals, and core strengthening. A wide range of indoor & outdoor drills (seasonally) will be the focus of this class. 4:45 to 5:35 PM in the Gym

The very basics, no sun salutations or human pretzel poses! You can practice seated poses in a chair or on a thick padded mat. We’ll do a lot of breathing exercises, go through a full range of motion, and practice both visualization and meditation. 4:45 to 5:15 PM

This class is for anyone ages 16 & Up. This is a class for those who want to go to the next level in developing their core strength. A series of intermediate and advanced suspension training exercises designed to strengthen the muscles of the lumbar spine, abdominal, and hips. 9:15 to 9:45 AM

This class is for anyone ages 16 & Up. This is a high energy class that combines cardio and strength intervals using a variety of equipment, including TRX. 5:00 to 5:50 PM

Beginner's Yoga

This class is for anyone ages 16 & Up. Chair or Floor, Depending On Ability This class invites seniors, students who are new to yoga, or just want a gentle practice; to learn basic yoga concepts and learn how to adapt yoga poses to their particular needs. The focus of the class will be on accessing the body’s inner wisdom as it explores various yoga postures and concepts. We will also delve into the Chakra system and focus on breathing techniques to enhance wellness and peace of mind. The class will consist of warm-ups, yoga postures, and relaxation techniques. Please bring a tie, belt or strap, a towel and (if doing floor work) a mat. 5:30 to 6:20 PM

Women & Weights

This class is for women ONLY. Are you intimidated by lifting weights? If so, this class is for you! This class utilizes free weights, bands, and machines to help you get your body into shape. The classes will consist of a core workout, cardio conditioning, and overall body toning. 6:30 to 7:20 PM

Karate (Kroc Cinema)

This class is for ages 7-15. Do you want to be a part of the action? This traditional martial arts class consists of teaching children self-discipline and self-respect. Students will learn basic karate moves, the fundamentals of karate, and the fundamentals of self-defense. Children will be able to progress through different levels and belts. This Class will be held in the Kroc Cinema 6:30 to 7:20 PM. Advanced class 7:30 to 8:20 PM

Pilates

Pilates A floor class that offers movement that strengthens the core stomach and back muscles while gaining flexibility. Pilates is great for toning and lengthening the body without adding stress to the joints. The class teaches proper breathing techniques and control over various muscles. Exercise can be modified for all fitness levels and is great for beginners and persons with previous injury. 10:15 to 11:05 AM

This class is for anyone ages 16 & Up. A challenging fitness class that utilizes a variety of exercises from bodyweight to kettlebells. Exercises are done to reach rep blocks of 300. Modifications are given to accommodate people of all levels of fitness. Are you ready for the 300? 5:30 to 6:20 PM

Come enjoy Zumba and Pilates packed into just one class. This class will provide 25 minutes of Zumba and 25 minutes of Pilates training. You will get a great cardiovascular workout while doing Zumba. Then you will learn how to train your core, back, and also work on strength and balance. This is a great class for beginners or people who are short on time. 10:15 to 11:05 AM

Ages 4-7. This class will be held in the Dance Studio. This class is for children looking to explore different movements and work on developing gross motor skills as well as fine motor skills. This class will also work on focus, and incorporate lessons such as the alphabet, numbers, and rhythm. 10:15 to 10:45 AM.

Dance Creative Movement

Ages 8 & Up. This class will be held in the Dance Studio. This class is designed for kids to give the basics of ballet technique. No prior training is required. The focus will be learning the beginning positions and terminology. There will also be a focus on discipline, listening skills and following instruction, all while still having fun of course! 10:45 to 11:30 AM

Beginners Tap


Ages 8 & Up. This class will be held in the Dance Studio. This tap class is a great new hobby for the Spring! A fun class for all ages, focusing on basic rhythms, time steps, and coordination, all while working up a sweat. No prior training is necessary, as long as you have shoes. 11:40 to 12:15 PM.

Personal Training

We have personal training sessions available all year long with prices starting at $25 for members and $30 for non-members. Train with a friend or one-on-one with one of our trainers.
