At The Salvation Army’s Kroc Center, we offer programs designed to strengthen the whole person. That’s why our Summer Camp Programs include recreational, spiritual,
educational, and arts components for your children.

Summer Camp Programs at the Kroc Center serves children of a variety of ages. You and your child can choose from Kinder Camps, to Day Camps, to over night camp
experiences at Camp SWONEKY, to basketball camps hosted by NBA players.

Day Camp General Information

 

Day Camp registration is open!

Day Camp -  8 One-Week Sessions


Tuesdays through Fridays 8 AM to 4 PM
Each day, children will be able to choose activities within the following areas: Recreation & Fitness; Technology & Education; Music, Theater, & Fine Arts; and Life Skills. Reading time will also be provided on Tuesday and Thursday.  All campers will attend daily Devotions. Children will participate in a variety of
activities to stimulate their interests, including guest speakers, field trips,
one-day art projects, and weekly swimming at the Kettering Recreation Center.

Kinder Camp - Half day


Ages 3-5 (must be 3 years old by June 3; must be potty trained)

Tuesdays through Fridays
AM Session: 8:00 AM to 11:30 AM
PM Session: 12:30 PM to 4:00 PM

Post Camp


For working parents, The Kroc Center has a convenient post camp option.

Cost: $5/Day
Hours: 4:00 to 5:30 pm
(There will be an additional charge of $5 if your child is picked up after 5:30 PM)

Must make a reservation, and fees must be paid at time of enrollment.
There will be no refunds for unused post-camp days. 
On field trip days, there will be no post-camp.
 * Children who are not pre-registered for Post Camp and are not picked up by 4:15 pm, will be sent to Post Camp and charged a $5.00 post-camp fee. *

You can register your child by filling out a Day Camp Enrollment Form, available at the Kroc Center Welcome Desk, or download one from the website and bring it into the Kroc Center.  Enrollment for Day Camps will begin on March 4. Turn in your completed forms and fees at the Welcome Desk. Completed forms with fees are required to guarantee your child’s spot in camp. For more information, call 937-528-5100.

 

Scholarships

Scholarships spaces are limited and are available to those who qualify.

Opportunities are available for one program scholarship per
person during the months of June-August.

Scholarship applications must be received by the Scholarship Coordinator 3-weeks prior to camp sessions starting.

Camper spots will not be held while scholarships are
processing.

Scholarship payments must be made in full to hold a camper’s spot.

 

Code of Conduct and Discipline Policy

 

In order to facilitate positive life experiences while at The Kroc Center, mutual respect between members, guests, and staff is required at all times. Failure to observe these policies will result in disciplinary action and/or termination of membership privileges. Center personnel have the right to refuse service to anyone deemed disruptive or abusive.

Children under the age of 15 must have an adult (21 and over) on campus, unless enrolled in a program.

Refrain from the use of foul language, abusive actions, and inappropriate behavior.

Lost membership cards must be reported. There is a $1 fee to replace a membership card.

No one under the age of 16 is allowed in the Fitness Center unless participating in a program or class.

Shirts and shoes must be worn at all times. Proper workout attire is required in Fitness Center (no street shoes or jeans). Any logos or messages on clothing must be acceptable in a family setting.

Bicycles, roller blades, skateboards, scooters, or pets (excluding service animals) will not be allowed inside the facility.

Alcohol and/or drugs are not allowed anywhere on the premises.

Smoking and/or use of any type of smokeless tobacco are prohibited in the facility or on facility grounds.

Program Directors reserve the right to dismiss a child from programs due to inappropriate actions. No refunds will be given in the case of dismissal.

1. Oral Warning & Conversation: student redirected toward appropriate behavior.
2. Report to Program Director/Time removed from class; student reflects on how to make better choices.
3. Student calls parent/guardian

Severity Clause

Students may be referred to our Camp Director immediately due to verbal and physical abuse of another student or instructor, and destruction of property. At that time a determined amount of time loss in program will be decided or the child could be removed from the program.

 

Medication Protocol

If your child has any special medical needs, please include this information on the Enrollment form, including all medical or behavioral diagnoses, as well as environmental changes that may affect your child’s experience. If needed, a member of our staff will contact you to learn more about your child’s needs, medications and any side affects they may have during their time in our Summer Day-Camp programs.

If your child needs medications administered during the program, you must authorize this on the Enrollment form. The medication(s) must be in their original prescription container with your child’s name printed on the label and placed in a plastic bag.

Head & Skin Check

Children found to have nits or lice will not be allowed to stay for camp. Please check, and if necessary, treat your child for these conditions before summer camps begin.

 

Meal Times

A light breakfast will be served between 8:00-8:30 AM. Lunch is served at 12 PM for full day camps and at 12:30 PM for Kinder Camp.

Breakfast and lunch are included in the camp fees. In addition to breakfast and lunch, your child will be provided with both a morning and afternoon snack.
