June 4 - June 14 (Tuesday - Friday) Medieval Fair Feast
12:00-4:00 pm
Being a knight was SERIOUS business…. But having fun was important too! During medieval fair feast we will be using our imaginations to create food and projects. Then we will take them to the fair and trade with others. How much can you trade?

June 18 - June 28 (Tuesday - Friday) Featured Creatures: Dragons
12:00-4:00 pm
Dragons are really cool! But are they real? Come enjoy some FIRE BREATHING fun and find out about dragons. Learn what kind of dragons are walking around today.

July 9 - July 19 (Tuesday - Friday) Knights in Shining Water
12:00-4:00 pm
Curiosity is the perfect quest for a knight and curiosity is just what you will find in this majestically cool camp. Join us in your quest for knighthood as we explore cool shining water in many fun ways.

July 23 - August 2 (Tuesday - Friday) Castle Builders
12:00-4:00 pm
Explore castles from the main gates to the highest tower.
Discover what kind of people worked inside. As your
curiosity grows, so will the walls of your very own castle.

Grades 1-5 Medieval Masquerade
Chivalry has its place even in our modern world.   Learn to carry
yourself proudly as you experiment with rhythm and movement. You will surely have a ball learning medieval dances including the Carole, Estampie, Jig, Saltarello… and many more. Showcase your lively and aerobic dance moves in a finale debut, made even more spectacular by your own costumes and props.  

Grades 3-5 How to Tame Your Own Dragon
Albert Einstein once said, “Logic will get you from A-Z; imagination will get you everywhere.” Use facts about real animals and knowledge of dragon myths to design a dragon and create fantastic adventures for it. Students will experience and imagine through molding dough, building models, acting-out ideas, comparing sizes, and creating photo-works. Let your brain go berserk and allow your imagination to soar on the wings of a dragon.

Grades 6-8 Medieval Media: Heralding Your Cause
Explore communication in medieval times and compare them to
modern methods. Try your hand at calligraphy, relief printing, and
paper making as well as Microsoft Publisher, SCRATCH, and
Moviemaker. Discover how word of mouth information has stayed the same and how it has changed? Students will chronicle their message through a one-of-a-kind multimedia work highlighting their acquired medieval talents and modern-day noble ideas.

Grades 3-8 Castles, Catapults, and Carts (Oh, my!)
Explore. Dream. Be Curious. Students will learn about medieval machines such as the catapults, mills, trebuchets, presses, clocks, and drawbridges while demonstrating the dynamics of inertia, perpetual momentum, gravity, energy, and force. While exploring the K’Nex building system, craft sticks, Legos, and computer technology, students will rediscover the basic scientific and mathematical concepts behind many modern-day machines. When you are curious, you will find lots of interesting things to do.

Grades 3-5 Charge!
Explore common tasks in the medieval world.  What did it take to stay healthy and strong in times before modern medicine and workout equipment? Further your self-esteem and your team’s points by uniting and working toward common goals:  practice hunting skills (through archery), gather nutritional wisdom, and armor your body (with strong muscles). You, too, can develop the leadership and mannerisms of a lord!

Grades 1-2 A Knight’s Tale
Do you know who spent the night in the belly of the whale? Or who blew his trumpet so loud that he knocked down the walls of an entire city!? During ‘A Knight’s Tale’, your child will have fun learning about bravery through Bible stories, film, acting, and music. We will focus on a different moral value each day that is sure to build character. Your child will learn memory verses, create healthy snacks, and learn the recorder all while having a blast!

Field trip to CoCo Keys on Thursday, June 27.

Grades 3-8 The K.R.O.C. Knighthood
Do something uncommon and train for knighthood!  Whether you start as a page, squire, or noble-man/lady, learn agility, strength, and chivalry through interactive tasks and fundamental games. Strategize in game ball (ancestor of flag football) and hurling (ancestor of floor hockey);
develop good form in colf (ancestor to golf); and even test your accuracy through horseshoes, skittles, and archery!

Grades 3-5 Jr. Chef: Medieval Style
Good morrow ye young lords and ladies! Ever wanted to travel back in time to the Medieval era and learn about common foods and cooking during the Middle Ages? If thou answer is yes, Jr. Chef: Medieval Style camp is for you! This camp will feature many fun and exciting medieval cooking activities, from learning about traditional medieval foods to hosting a medieval feast and of course…The Royal Bake Sale!! So come hither young medieval chefs and explore this
glorious feast of learning and good food!

Grades 1-2 Fortress Fables
Do you enjoy acting out stories? Come join us for an Aesop Adventure! Students will explore different fables and theatrical ways of presenting them through the use of medieval puppetry, stage movement, and music. Discover who cried wolf, who ran faster, and who worked harder!

Grades 3-8 Robin is in Our Hood
Ride along with Robin Hood, Little John and his merry men as they venture through Sherwood Forest in an attempt to combat injustice. Along the way, participants will join Robin Hood on his quest to free the people of Nottingham from the greedy hands of King Richard. Students will learn and perform aspects of the musical, Robin Hood. Come sing and dance with us in our adventure to see if Robin Hood will be successful in his quest!

Grades 3-5 Medieval Merry Makers, Treasure Takers, and Bread Bakers
Explore the medieval world through a gamut of games and jaunty jobs. Sample some medieval cuisine along the way. Children will learn the nobility of a knight, the frivolity of a jester, the accuracy of an archer, and the honor of a queen through reading, role playing, and reaching through the years. Discover how both business and nonsense were conducted during times of castles and kingdoms.

Field trip to Newport Aquarium on Thursday, August 1.

Camp Swoneky

Activity areas include 2 playgrounds, a Jumping Pillow, a 9 hole disc golf course, a swimming pool, a lake for boating and fishing, a nature center, a craft lodge, a challenge course, a children’s petting farm, a horse corral, hiking trails, tennis courts, basketball courts, volleyball courts, baseball/softball fields, a campfire amphitheater, and much more.

Transportation will be provided to and from camp from the Kroc Center.
