The Dayton Kroc Center Tech ProgramsThe Salvation Army in Dayton has offered a variety of educational programs over the years, especially focused on serving urban youth over the last four years. We're excited to use the new facilities at the Kroc Center to provide even more opportunities for kids and adults to develop their learning and technology skills!

Tech Cafe

10 AM Surfing Seniors
A time just for our senior citizens! Learn how to create your own cards, slide shows, and manage your technical devices or enjoy some bowling with friends on Kinect. Tuesdays at 10 am. For Ages 55 and Up.
4 PM Tutelege Tips
Join other adults for a discussion designed to help our children arrive at their full potential academically. Literacy, math and general motivation techniques plus your expertise are on the table! Together we can get our kids on the road to success and make homework time less of a battle and more of a victory. Tuesdays at 4 pm. For Ages 16 & Up.
6 PM Media Merger
ound, Picture, and Animation! Learn how to blend any combination of the three into a myriad of individualized presentations. Learn how to merge media to create powerful messages for work and/or personal use. (Digital and Video cameras will be available for use in the Tech Café during class time.) Tuesdays at 6 pm. For All Ages.
5 PM Web Invent
Get yourself out on the web. Whether you have a business to promote or a family to unite, the web is a great place to be. Learn the ins and outs of web editing sites and navigational tools. Thursdays at 5 pm. For Ages 16 & Up.
5 PM Tech NOW!
Come in and view the latest and greatest technological developments in the world on the Tech Cafe’s big screen! Fridays at 5 pm. For Ages 16 & Up. No class April 18.
1 PM Tech Fitness Zone
Work on the Wii Fit and Wii Zumba programs to gain strength and balance in your body. Also, improve your cardio and aerobic stamina. Or work on rhythm and flexibility with the Kinect dance programs. Saturdays at 1 pm. For All Ages.

Drop-In Anytime Classes

Learn time-saving tips on how to use MSWord, Publisher, Excel and PowerPoint more effectively in these Microsoft Office mini-classes. For All Ages.
Online Circles
Create your own circles and interact for business or pleasure on sites like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Skype, Google+, and more! For personalized set up, bring in personal laptops or digital devices. For All Ages.
The Write Place
Do you need help writing or researching a paper? Could you use a second set of eyes to proofread? You’ve come to the right place! Whether you are writing a paper, re-working a resume, or composing letters or reports, we’re here to help. For All Ages.

Research Like a Pro
It’s time for term papers AND finding good deals! Or, read up on that company you would like to explore for an up-coming interview. This class will cover all types of researching. Learn to get the facts like a pro. For All Ages.
Teachers, babysitters, parents, and grandparents learn how to keep kids safe online side by side with your young ones. Topics include how to handle cyber bullying, monitoring social networking, and maintaining your dignity and preserving your identity. For All Ages.

Wii & Kinect Free Play
Come in and practice on the Wii and Kinect. Get a leg up on the competition for the Saturday tournaments. For All Ages.



Adult Classes

GED Class

It’s never too late to achieve your goals! The GED or the General Education Development is a test of your skills and capabilities required for admission to colleges, educational institutions, and employment eligibility. You may have missed your school’s diploma or failed to complete your basic studies in Ohio. In such cases, taking a battery of GED tests will help you achieve a general proficiency certificate and also get admission in colleges and schools. Taking the Ohio GED test enables you to show your worth in handling college level courses. See schedule below for days and times. Classes begin Monday, March 10 and will run through Friday, May 2. Cost: FREE

ESOL Class

English for speakers of other languages are designed to help the students improve their skills of speaking, listening, reading, writing and knowledge of American culture. Students from a wide variety of countries benefit from English instruction to obtain employment, improve academic success and make new friends. MVCTC (Miami Valley Career & Technology Center).has a history of assisting foreign-born persons living in the Dayton Metro area. The English for Speakers of Other Languages course has been taught to hundreds of individuals of various ages. See schedule below for days and times.
