Our camp is accredited by the American Camping Association and is licensed by the New York State Department of Health.

Long Point Camp and Conference Center is centrally located in the scenic Finger Lakes Region of New York State, a nd operates year-round.

Since 1953, Long Point has been the centerpiece of The Salvation Army's camping and retreat ministry in the Empire State Division.

From late June to mid-August, we operate separate, week-long summer camp sessions for children and senior citizens, in an environment of fun, friends and faith, complete with bus servics from metropolitan areas in Upstate New York.

Then, from August to June, we offer a full-fledge conference center for business meetings, conferences and retreats, accommodating small and large groups. It is ideal for groups that want to regroup, refresh, revitalize.
Long Point boasts 138 acres of wooded hills, farmland and shoreline on the western side of Seneca Lake, just off Route 14 near Penn Yan, NY.

Every summer the giggles and squeals of children blend with the sounds of nature as some 1,200 children enjoy a rich summer camp experience - rich in fun, friends and faith.

Camp Mission Statement
TeenLoungeDiscussion
"Long Point Camp exists to be a place where youth may capture the joy of living-loving-and-learning more about their God, themselves, and others."
We fulfill our mission by presenting a high quality program that provides each camper opportunities to grow spiritually, physically, emotionally, socially, and educationally.

Here are a few examples of how our programs offer opportunities for growth in these areas:

SPIRITUALLY - through cabin and camp-wide devotions, mealtime prayers, Lord's Day Worship, and individual counseling with Christian Staff.

PHYSICALLY - through a well-rounded, structured program of camp activities, balanced nutrition, and health care.CampArtsNcrafts

EMOTIONALLY - through activities that promote self-esteem, teamwork, and healthy peer relationships.

SOCIALLY - through community living, cooperative group interaction, and positive role models.

EDUCATIONALLY - through program areas that develop new skills, ex: outdoor living, arts & crafts, music, recreation, boating, swimming, and nature.

Up to 192 campers enroll for each camp session. Children range in range in age from 6 to 12, with the exception of Teen Camp and Music Camp.

The Program

The summer camping season is divided into seven sessions, each consisting of 5 to 7 day programs. Children get a taste of various activities while rotating among arts & crafts, pioneering, athletics, music, boating and swimming throughout the week. As part of their afternoon activity, they get to choose one club of special interest to focus on during their stay. Campers also enjoy special cabin activities planned by their counselors.

Supervision and Accommodations

Long Point enjoys great diversity among its staff. While former campers often return to join the camp staff, Long Point also attracts young leaders from several continents each summer. All staff members are carefully screened and required to complete an orientation and training prior to the start of the camping season.

Children live in large cabins that accommodate 12 campers each, along with a team of two permanent counselors and an additional senior staff member to help with supervision. Cabins are well-equipped with toilets, showers and recreation rooms for rainy day activities.

Health Care
