About Us

WHETHER IT'S A WARM BLANKET ON A DISPLACED FAMILY or a listening ear to a struggling mother- hope and healing is the message of The Salvation Army. Since 1885, The Salvation Army Harrisburg Capital City Region has been providing social and spiritual services to the local community. People given purpose, hearts given hope and souls finding redemption-this has been our mission for more than a century.

Today, through over 3,500 service centers in the eastern region of the United States, The Army's spiritual and social services assist millions of homeless, working poor, children, youth, addicted, elderly, and abused families and individuals.

The Salvation Army Harrisburg Capital City Region offers 11 different programs ranging from after school activities for kids to our senior citizens group. At Christmas we reach over 1,000 families and nearly 3,500 children sharing Christ's love, hope and compassion for our neighbors in need.
