Salvation Army Celebrates 150 Year Anniversary
announced the 150th Anniversary Congress of the founding of The Salvation Army
in London, UK, 1 - 5 July, 2015. Salvationists from 126 countries united under the theme, BOUNDLESS: The Whole World Redeeming. This theme comes from
the pen of General William Booth, who wrote the words to what we affectionately
call The Founder's Song:
boundless salvation, deep ocean of love;
O fullness of mercy, Christ
brought from above.
The whole world redeeming,
so rich and so free;
Now flowing for all men,
come roll over me!
3:8, admonishes us to 'Preach to the nations the boundless riches of Christ!'
And the nations gathered from the four corners of the earth in the East End
of London to observe this historic event. The 2015 International Congress commemorated the past accomplishments of The Army, which has seen the Gospel
taken to 126 countries. It also celebrated what God is doing in and through
The Salvation Army today and for the future, spurring us on to
even greater things beyond the year 2015.
Congresses traditionally take place over the course of a weekend, the Boundless
Congress was a five-day event, which began on Wednesday 1 July with
an opening rally that welcomed the world to London, the birthplace of The
Salvation Army. The Congress concluded with a grand sending-forth service
on Sunday 5 July. Every meeting was planned to first of all, bring
honor and glory to the Lord, but also to display the cultural diversity of our

Holiday Volunteer Opportunities
It's never too early to think about helping out at our holiday distributions. Our 2015 holiday dates are now available. Mark your calendar, fill out an application, and come help your fellow neighbors in need.
The Salvation Army Levittown Corps Community
Center has been serving Bucks County since 1898. The center has many social
service programs including a food pantry, rent and utility assistance, vouchers
for clothing and household items, Back to School help, toys and clothes for children at Christmas, and
Christmas Food Baskets. Our emergency disaster services include help following
floods, fires, and other natural disasters. The center also serves children and
youth through Before and After School, Homework Club, Summer Day Camp, Camp Ladore and other
camp trips, Youth T-Ball, Soccer, and Basketball. We have a chapel on site that offers church worship services, Bible Study/Sunday school, a youth group, vacation Bible school, and adult
fellowship retreats. We also have nursing home visitations. Our community events include a Back to School kick off, Easter Egg
Hunt, Mother's Day Brunch, Harvest Festival, and Thanksgiving Community Dinner. There are many volunteer opportunities.
