Ashland Kroc Center Officially Approved

The unprecedented gift of Mrs. Joan Kroc to The Salvation Army for the development of Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Centers has brought about many exciting challenges and opportunities for the Eastern Territory. Most importantly, the gift strengthens our organization’s efforts to continue and expand what matters most to each of us- the carrying out of The Salvation Army mission to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human need in His name without discrimination. The Salvation Army Kroc Centers will enable The Army to have a significantly greater impact on communities in which they are located and to serve as beacons of hope and agents of change in that community while advancing our mission.
I am pleased to announce the addition of the Ashland Ohio Corps of the North East Ohio Division as an approved site to proceed in the Eastern Territory to the Construction and Fundraising Phase for award of Mission Expansion funds.
It is with grateful appreciation that I acknowledge all the applicants throughout the Territory for their expeditious planning and development throughout the Development Phase.
We also are indebted to the members of the Mission Expansion Task Force and the Kroc Team for their excellent work under the leadership of the Chief Secretary, Lt. Colonel Larry Bosh, and Mission Expansion Secretary, Major Hugh Steele, for their efforts and visionary leadership in this process.
Mission continues to matter most as we do the most good, for the most people, in the most need.
Sincerely,
Lawrence R. Moretz
Commissioner
Territorial Commander. |
