Comprehensive Emergency Financial Assistance
The Salvation Army provides Emergency Financial Assistance to families that have shut off notices on electric, gas, fuel oil, rent, mortgage, water/sewer, special needs, dental, prescriptions, motel stays, and emergency transportation. We also receive calls from stranded travelers, victims of domestic violence and families dealing with misfortunes that can hit anyone at any time. Anyone calling upon us is offered assistance, information and referrals and a listening ear to help him or her get through their immediate need.
We also offer budget counseling and assistance with resume’ writing for those seeking employment We are often the safety net for families facing financial emergencies in this community. Families requesting emergency financial assistance in the Windham, Garrettsville, Freedom Township areas can be seen at the Northeast Portage Food Shelf in Windham (9690 E. Center St.) - Monday, Wednesday, and Friday - 10AM to 2PM. No appointment needed.
