Kidventure

The Kidventure Enrichment Program is an extension of The Salvation Army Learning Center. The program runs full day, 9am-4pm, Monday thru Friday, for 10 weeks during the summer.

The Goals of the Kidventure Summer Enrichment Program are:
- Develop and increase academic skills
- Enhance creativity and self-expression through art
- Encourage children to explore and develop special interest and talents.
- Increase children’s social skills and self-esteem.
- Increase and develop cooperation and team building through outdoor activities.

Children and tutors rotate learning stations during the course of each day to enhance or maintain the academic level of each child. Art and Music are taught to help the children express themselves in creative ways, promoting culture. Educational field trips are provided to help children explore and develop a sense of community awareness and special interests . The nationally recognized Character Counts program is used to teach the children core values and will help with their social skills and self-esteem . Outdoor activities include gardening, game playing, and free time are used to help the children develop cooperation and team building.
