Shelter

If you or someone you know is facing homelessness, we can help! Call 345-3289 or come to our Emergency Homeless Shelter at 250 E. Main St. in Newark.

Emergency Homeless Shelter
Thanks to generous donations from our community, we opened a brand new shelter this year. We increased our capacity from 18 to 60 beds. Highlights from the new shelter include:
•    Large family rooms so families can stay together
•    Smaller dorm rooms for single men and women for increased privacy
•    Enhanced handicap-accessible rooms
•    Laundry facilities for residents
•    Improved security system
•    1,200 gallon generator

Our Emergency Homeless Shelter is open 24 hours per day, 365 days per year. Residents in our shelter can stay a maximum of 90 days. They receive three nutritious meals a day. Our staff creates an individual plan for each resident to meet his or her specific needs. We assist with job searches and transitional housing to help them move on with their lives. We partner with area organizations that provide mental health support, drug and addiction counseling and childcare.

Emergency Disaster Shelter
Through a partnership with the American Red Cross, our center is a temporary shelter site following natural disasters. After extreme weather or power outages, Licking County residents can come to our center for food and shelter.

You can support our Emergency Homeless Shelter by making a financial or in-kind donation.
