Who We Are

How it all began in Orrville...

The Salvation Army has been serving the Orrville community for over 68 years.  Bob "Punch" Maiwurm, a local clothing store owner, had a vision back then to help those who were less fortunate.  He kept food and medicine in the basement of his store to assist those in the community with dire needs.  In the 1990's, the Salvation Army moved to a location on Market Street and employed one full time director.  In 2012, after a successful capital campaign, we moved into our permanent home on West High Street, employing one full time director, one full time assistant director, and one part time office manager.
