Oakhurst Dairy, northern New England's largest independent family-owned dairy company presented a check to The Salvation Army for funds raised during its 12th annual Egg Nog campaign. This past holiday season, Oakhurst raised $19,500 to support The Salvation Army of Northern New England which serves families in need in Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont. Each year, the family-owned New England dairy donates five cents for every container of Oakhurst Egg Nog and Lite Egg Nog sold. In 2011, more than 390,00 cartons were sold from mid-October through December. To date, Oakhurst Dairy has donated more than $200,000 to The Salvation Army of Northern New England.

These funds help support programs that provide meals and shelter to families in need as well as after-school tutoring and recreation activities for at risk children.
