Released 18 November 2011

Angel Giving TreeThe Giving Tree program with ABC 8 WMTW will kick off at noon
at the Maine Mall in South Portland on Wednesday, November 30th.

For 22 years, this program has provided toys to hundreds of children.  We are thankful to those shoppers who purchase the toys requested
on the Giving Tree tags, which allows The Salvation Army to brighten
the holiday season for many families.

The "Giving Trees" are hung with "Angels" expressing the specific
needs and desires of local underprivileged children.   Shoppers
are encouraged to take an "Angel" from the tree and purchase
the requested gift(s).  Then drop-off the unwrapped gifts (with the
angel enclosed) at the Toy box located near the "Giving Tree".  The
Salvation Army will make sure the gifts are distributed in time for
Christmas morning.

Salvation Army Giving Trees are located at the Maine and Auburn Malls.
