"Be A Shield"
Be a Shield is a call to action, a rallying cry to the community It says the status quo of hunger, poverty, and injustice is unacceptable. It calls upon individuals to make change happen. Be a Shield for those in need by volunteering, advocating or donating to make a difference.
OUR MISSION
The Salvation Army, an international movement,
is an evangelical part of the universal Christian church.
Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God.
Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ
and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.
The Salvation Army, NWOAS, is a part of an international organization, which seeks to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs without discrimination. We follow the mission of our Founder William Booth who stated:
"While women weep as they do now, I'll fight; While little children go hungry, as they do now, I'll fight; While men go to prison, in and out, as they do now, I'll fight; while there is a drunkard left, while there is a poor lost girl upon the streets, while there remains one dark soul without the light of God, I'll fight; I'll fight to the very end." Albert Hall, London, May 9, 1912
Purpose Statement
"To Glorify God"
Need Knows No Season
The Salvation Army provides programming throughout the year to persons in need. Assistance may be in the form of a food bags, help with keeping a families utilities on, or with clothing and furniture. Help may be to a young child struggling with school, an individual trying to overcome challenges associated with substance abuse addiction, or a senior unable to get out of their home. Whatever crisis the family is experiencing, The Salvation Army is there to listen and provide comfort and support. The annual appeal at Christmas helps us help others, not only at Christmas, but throughout the year.
Your time, financial contributions, and prayer are greatly appreciated throughout the year.
