Loss of an Outstanding Community Leader and Friend
The York Citadel Corps is saddened at the passing of long-time Advisory Board Member B. Vann Johnson who died on February 15th at the age of 82. A Board Member  since 1970, he was awarded the Outstanding Salvation Army Service Award at the Eighth Annual Advisory Board Dinner in 2013.

Prior to 1969, before moving to York, he served on the Advisory Board for the Erie Citadel Corps of The Salvation Army. Vann became the York Organization's Advisory Board Chairman in the mid 70’s and chaired the Marketing and Communications Committee of the Board after his term as Chairman.  Nine years ago Vann spearheaded the effort to organize and conduct the dinner event as an annual showcase honoring Community and York Salvation Army supporters, workers and volunteers.
