Retirement and New Hire at The Salvation Army

George Lenkner, Business Manager for The Salvation Army of York since 1996 was honored at a retirement luncheon held recently at the Salvation Army of York.
  Already on board to follow Mr. Lenkner is J. Thomas “Tom” Shelley, life long York County resident who has thirty years of pastoral experience.   Mr. Shelley served ten years of the York County Rail Trail Authority and was President of the Board of Directors of the York County Crime Stoppers

We are honored to announce that The Salvation Army-York Character Education and Life Skills Program, Bridging the Gap, has been selected by the Central Penn Business Journal as a finalist in its Nonprofit Excellence Awards, in the program category. One of our newest programs, Bridging the Gap serves the entire fifth grade of York City School district and has reached about 1000 students since it started in January, 2013.
EVERY FRIDAY MORNING 4 - 6 am
Helping others -The Canteen Van Volunteers and staff provide hot coffee and sandwiches to approximately 50 Day Laborers in the York area.
