Daughtry To Kick Off Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign During Dallas Cowboys Thanksgiving Day Game

Grammy-nominated rock band, Daughtry, will perform live at the Dallas Cowboys Thanksgiving Day game in a nationally televised halftime show that will air on CBS, Cowboys owner and manager Jerry Jones announced. The performance will officially kick off The Salvation Army’s 2009 Red Kettle Christmas campaign, the oldest annual charitable fundraiser of its kind in the United States.

The Salvation Army responds to those affected by the tsunami that struck parts of Samoa and American Samoa on September 30. The tsunami, which caused death, injuries and widespread destruction, occurred after a powerful earthquake struck the South Pacific.

Final Steel Beam Hoisted into Place at The Salvation Army Kroc Center

Officers, donors and stakeholders in The Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center gathered to sign and celebrate the placement of the final steel beam of the 130,000 square-foot facility on 12.4 acres on 4200 Wissahickon Avenue in North Philadelphia.

Salvation Army responds to Typhoon Morakot

Salvation Army personnel from Taiwan are responding to Typhoon Morakot, which brought devastation to much of the country. Taiwan experienced its worst flooding in decades after the typhoon washed out roads, snapped bridges and sent dwellings crashing into rivers.

The Salvation Army Christmas in July Campaign

For the first time in its 130-year history, The Salvation Army of Greater Philadelphia is conducted a Christmas in July campaign. The month-long series of special fund raising events was neccessary to help bridge the gap between a 30 percent increase in demand for basic emergency assistance and an $850,000 shortfall in traditional funding.

Inner city children head to the Poconos

On July 29th, more than 230 inner city Philadelphia children said good-bye to their parents and boarded buses headed to the Pocono Mountains to attend The Salvation Army Camp Ladore.
