HARTFORD - It must be that time of the year! Herb Lillibridge, Design Manager for the Belcan Engineering Group, gave a call to Lisa Goepfert, M.S.W, The Salvation Army’s Southern New England Divisio's Director of Development and said, "We have a check for you . . .when can we come over?"
Belcan employees have once again chosen The Salvation Army because of the Army's long history of helping in a time of crisis. Major David Champlin, Divisional Commander for The Salvation Army's Southern New England Division said, "It's because of companies like Belcan and their employees that we are able to fulfill our mission of helping others. We appreciate their generosity."
Although the Belcan Corporate Office is located in Cincinnati, Ohio, a local division is based at Pratt & Whitney in East Hartford. These employees wanted to find a way to give back to the local community during the holidays. They decided, with the blessings of their corporate office, to donate funds allocated for a holiday luncheon by the Corporate Office to The Salvation Army and held a fun Pot Luck Holiday Luncheon. The Corporate Office in Cincinnati decided to add even more funds to give back to the community. Herb Lillibridge said, "We are very happy to be of help and to be able to give back to The Salvation Army."
