HARTFORD - The Greater Hartford Salvation Army Women's Auxiliary Annual Dinner and Fashion Show was held at the Pond House in West Hartford on September 29th. A large crowd of Fashionesta's attended the late afternoon event and went home as a group of very "happy shoppers!"

What's hot in the fashion world this season? If you were in attendance attended . . . you would know. The September issues of Vogue, InStyle, and Elle magazine are touting Fall Fashions that include capes, cardigans, shearling, suede, corduroy trousers, faux leather, faux fur, pencil skirts and minimalist dresses. And we had them all!

Emma Asante, Community Projects Director for NBC 30, served as the Fashion Commentator. As the models strutted down the runway, Emma read the scripts impeccably and everyone listened intently to the names of the big fashion designers and the descriptions of the models' outfits.

Jeanne Mucci, show coordinator said, "With the wonderful selection of consignment clothing for sale, many of the ladies went home with some great fashion finds at real bargain prices. Several of the guys in the audience enjoyed good food, a night out and the opportunity to watch the fashions being modeled. The women enjoyed the fashion fun and great bargains......all for a great cause."

Women's Auxiliary President Sandra Bobowski said "We donate all the proceeds from our two featured events - the fashion show and the annual auction - as grants to programs that help the homeless people, children, Veterans, and women in the Greater Hartford area. I wish to thank everyone that helped make this year's programs a success."

Special thanks to Antonia's Hair Boutique, Kuboo's Fashion Boutique, Silkworm Clothing Boutique, Treva Restaurant of West Hartford, Mini New York City, Trinkets and treasure of Tolland, Janet Mellon - Southington Community Services, and our models - especially the young ladies from Girl Scout Troop 66364 in Farmington.
