C.E.S. "KING OF THE CANS" ONCE
MORE!
HARTFORD - Consulting Engineering Services (C.E.S.) of Middletown,
Connecticut, won The Salvation Army’s 23rd Annual Architects and
Engineers Can Challenge. This year’s contest is "history" and C.E.S. has
been declared "King of the Cans" once again! C.E.S. founder, President, and
CEO, George Keithan Jr. explained, "the effort that our employees put into
winning the competition to collect food for the hungry is unreal. Teams compete
against each other for the 'special trophy' and the first place team gets to
keep it for the year. Food is hidden all around the building because no one
wants the other teams to know how much food they have gathered until judgment
day. The contest is a lot of fun for everyone and, even better, the food goes
to help people in need."
The challenge is open to all architectural and engineering firms in the
Greater Hartford area and companies compete against each other for the coveted
title. Points are awarded on a per-can basis and per-dollar amount received,
then divided by the number of employees. The company with the highest point
average is declared the winner. However, the "real" winners are families in
need in the Greater Hartford area who will not need to go hungry.
The food was delivered to The Salvation Army’s Food Pantry on
Washington Street in Hartford. Truly a win/win/win situation for everyone
involved, The Salvation Army, those who will be served, and everyone that
participates in this fun and meaningful program.
