DANBURY - The Savings Bank of Danbury Foundation presented a check at their January reception, in the amount of $6,500, for The Salvation Army's Danbury Corps’ Community Emergency Assistance Program, and also awarded $2,000 to support The Salvation Army’s Waterbury Corps’ Family Emergency Shelter.

The Salvation Army’s Danbury Corps Officer, Captain Hughes, remarked, “We are deeply in gratitude to the Savings Bank of Danbury for all they do to help us and the people in need throughout the community. Judy Haskins-Conde is a member of our advisory board and gives us many hours of her time to guide us in making decisions that will help us in 'Doing The Most Good.' Between the many employees that volunteer to help us on special projects and donations like this check today, the Savings Bank of Danbury is always there for us!”

The Savings Bank of Danbury Foundation was established to provide grants to eligible tax-exempt organizations in four primary areas: education, community and economic development, health and human services, and arts and culture. The Foundation’s mission is “to strengthen communities by providing grants to organizations that are vital to the well-being, growth, and prosperity of the communities in which we live and work.” In total, the Foundation awarded $140,050 to 46 nonprofits in the Greater Waterbury and Danbury areas.
