contest.)
NORWALK – The Salvation Army Norwalk Corps' Corps Officer, Major Ariel
Guzman, has announced the winners of the 1st Domino Champions Tournament at his
14 Byington Place location. The tournament was run with teams playing three
separate 200 point games over a two-week period, with several mixed groups
participating. The Chief Judge and Referee was Major Guzman himself!
Troy Lee and Arthur Campbell were the ultimate champions, winning large
first-place trophies for their skills. Second place went to Eddy Santos and
Oscar Reyes, with third place awards given to Carl E. and Leonard D. from the
nearby ARC.
The next Domino Tournament will be held on May 21st and 28th at 6:00PM. It
will be a fun tournament for all, exposing the community to additional
tournament-style dominos, where experienced players will once again showcase
their skills as amateur players learn new techniques from them. Players will
have an opportunity to meet new members of the community and reconnect with
others. Dominos will once more serve as a game that brings family and friends
together . . . and as Major Guzman likes to say, extending the invitation to
anyone who may be interested, "Hope to see you all at the next one!"
For the spectators and friends attending in support, but not interested in
playing, Major Guzman has also established a knitting circle that will assist
beginners in the fine techniques of knitting. Meanwhile, the more-experienced
knitters will have an opportunity to demonstrate their creative side. There
will also be arts and crafts available for children to participate in. Overall,
there will be activities for everyone!
