WTIC HOLIDAY STORE CELEBRATING 23 YEARS!

HolidayStore2011 We celebrate our 23rd Anniversary this WTIC Holiday Store Season! The store began in 1990. It originated as an idea of WTIC program director, Jack Mitchell, that the station sponsor a holiday promotion which would enlist the community in a unified effort, while at the same time benefit those in need.

Since its start, the Holiday Store has grown every year, providing more and more goods for The Salvation Army to serve our neighbors. Corporate volunteers, families, school children, and donors look forward to the WTIC Holiday Store with great anticipation every December.

Last year, the store exceeded goals and expectations, with $206,761.52 in cash, an estimated $56,840.00 in toys, and over $7,576.00 in non-perishable food items - gathered to support the programs of The Salvation Army's Greater Hartford Area Services. WTIC and its listeners donated over a quarter of a million dollars to help people in need in Greater Hartford! Click here to donate to the 2012 WTIC Holiday Store.
