HARTFORD - The 66th Home Builders Association Home and Remodeling Show took
place at the Connecticut Convention Center on March 16th, 17th, and 18th and
The Salvation Army was there! The Emergency Disaster Services (EDS) Canteen was
parked on the convention center floor to educate attendees about the Army, the
EDS it provides, and to give tours of the canteen to everyone who was
interested. This is Connecticut's largest and longest running Home and
Remodeling Show and attracts thousands of affluent consumers looking for new
ideas, services, and products.
The mission of the Home Builders Association of Hartford County, Inc., a
trade association, is to promote safe and affordable housing; to serve its
members by striving to create a successful business environment; to provide
programs and services that will enhance their ability to conduct their
individual businesses with integrity and competence; to unite all segments of
the building industry for the benefit of all; to encourage member involvement
in the community; and to develop a partnership with the public sector to
achieve common goals. This organization is a strong supporter of The Salvation
Army, including as sponsors of the WTIC 1080 Holiday Store, with many members
visiting it to make donations throughout the broadcasts.
