Position Title: Beyond Shelter CT Housing Coordinator
Unit: Salvation Army Marshall House
Status: Exempt, Full Time (40 hours per week)
Immediate Supervisor: Director of Housing Stabilization Services
Primary responsibilities:
- Providing housing relocation assistance to households that are homeless
- Coordinating housing activities with landlords and/or property managers.
- Assisting households as needed during their move into permanent housing. Such assistance may include accessing rental assistance monies, donated furnishings and other basic household items for the family
- Providing support and follow-up services to households leaving shelters and to their landlords in order to establish and maintain rental stability.
Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in Human Services and two years experience working with at risk populations. Knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel programs, in addition to working within a Microsoft Windows based environment. Good interpersonal, organizational, oral and written communication skills; fluency in Spanish is desirable. Must possess valid Connecticut driver's license and reliable transportation.

Primary responsibilities: The Office Manager/Secretary shall provide clerical support to the Commanding Corps Officers. Position Title: Housing Stabilization Clinical Case Manager
Unit: Salvation Army/Marshall House
Homelessness Prevention Rapid Re-Housing Program (H-HPRP)
Hartford Region
Status: Exempt (40 hours per week/varied schedule)
Supervisor: Director of Housing Stabilization Services
Primary duties and responsibilities: Provide clinical assessment and case management services to HPRP clients, including providing housing relocation and stabilization services to assist families and individuals in maintaining housing stability. Services shall include, but not be limited to the following activities: housing search and placement services; outreach and engagement to potential recipients of assistance; develop housing and service plans with appropriate review and follow-up with clients; case management services based on housing and service plans; service coordination; monitoring and evaluation of program participant progress toward stabilization; linkages to legal services to assist people in maintaining housing; linkages to credit repair services; assistance with information and referrals and negotiation with area organizations for combined support, as needed, to increase housing stability, increase income and assets, and improve child well-being.
Qualifications: Masters in Social Work or related field preferred (LCSW), with a minimum of two years experience working in community-based direct services to families. Must demonstrate ability to work with HPRP-eligible individuals and families experiencing mental illness, HIV/AIDS, clients with chemical addictions, and those experiencing homelessness and financial difficulties. Knowledge of assessment and crisis intervention methods, housing placement, community resources and service planning required, along with demonstrated individual counseling skills. Knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel programs, in addition to working within a Microsoft Windows-based environment required. Good interpersonal, organizational, oral and written communications skills required; fluency in Spanish desirable. Must work in partnership with staff, clients and the community, lift 30 pounds and carry objects; must possess a valid motor vehicle driver's license and vehicle.
Schedule: 40 hours per week; schedule to be determined with the Director of Housing Stabilization Services, and may include evenings/weekends/on-call as needed.
