The Salvation Army of the Syracuse Area is blessed with thousands of supporters who allow us to serve over 40,000 Onondaga County residents each year. Donations from individuals, corporations and community groups help us to provide vital services 24 hours per day and 365 days per year to those in need. With your help, we are able to meet the immediate needs of individuals and families in crisis and assist them in making changes that lead to self sufficiency.
Your Contribution is Managed wisely
We know that you want your money to go directly to those in need, so Syracuse Area Services takes great care in managing our resources. One thing you may not realize is that every dollar we receive from our contributors helps us to secure up to an additional three dollars worth of donated supplies and governement grants. This means that your gift has the potential to quadruple in value.
In a Forbes Magazine interview, the late management guru Peter Drucker called The Salvation Army "by far the most effective organization in the U.S. No one even comes close to it in respect to clarity of mission, ability to innovate, measurable results, dedication and putting money to maximum use." One of the reasons we consistently receive high ratings from charity watchdog groups is that we keep our administrative costs to a minimum.
