Go with the flow with one of Pittsburgh's hottest favorites, "The Flow Band" and help clothe needy seniors and children with new winter outerwear through The Salvation Army and WTAE Tᖒs Project Bundle-Up. The Flow Band has slated a benefit concert for Friday, June 21st at the North Shore Saloon, located at 208 Federal Street, across from PNC Park.
For the third consecutive year, Entenman's Bakery will celebrate National Donut Day on June 7, 2013. Entenman's Bakery will also donate $1 to the The Salvation Army for every person who "Likes" the Entenman's Facebook page up to $30K until June 15th.
On Wednesday, May 15th, in celebration of the 60th National Salvation Army Week, FedEx is donating a custom $100,000 Disaster Response Unit (DRU) to The Salvation Army, the first vehicle of its kind to be used in Western Pennsylvania.
The Salvation Army, an evangelical part of the universal Christian church established in 1865, has been supporting those in need in His name without discrimination for 130 years in the United States. Nearly 30 million Americans receive assistance from The Salvation Army each year through the broadest array of social services that range from providing food for the hungry, relief for disaster victims, assistance for the disabled, outreach to the elderly and ill, clothing and shelter to the homeless and opportunities for underprivileged children. 90 cents of every dollar spent is used to support those services in 5,000 communities nationwide.
